About Adam
Clinical Director and Behaviour Support Practictioner
Hi there! I am Adam Toohey, a dedicated and passionate behaviour therapist and mentor with 5 years of experience helping clients of all ages thrive. My comprehensive knowledge and approach combine evidence-based behaviour programs, physical activities, community access, and mentorship to support clients facing challenges and daily life. With nearly a decade of training in boxing, Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, and mixed martial arts, I have had the opportunity to compete across Australia and in my home town of Canberra. Whilst training and competing in these sports I found my passion for helping others and started my career in behaviour therapy where I worked with complex clients. I continue to train and coach within combat sports, which informs my rapport-building and motivational work with youth. My qualifications include 2 years as a behaviour therapist and 3 years as a behaviour support specialist. In addition to this I am SoSAFE trained and a registered behaviour therapist with the NDIS. This extensive preperation allows me to make a real difference for students struggling at school, going through periods of transition or navigating the justice system.
About Gracie
Executive Director

Hi there! I am Gracie, and I bring a strong background in policy, operations, disability practice, and organisational governance. I began my career working directly in the disability sector before joining the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) within the Australian Public Service. In the NDIS, I trained new staff in plan building and quality outcomes for participants. During this time I stepped into a leadership role as a Team Lead in the NDIS COVID Crisis Support Team, coordinating urgent responses and funding for participants and their families.
I now have seven years of APS experience, progressing through a range of operational and policy roles. I have since specialised in Physical Security, which is my full‑time profession, while continuing to lead Breakthrough Behaviour at an executive level. My policy expertise, risk management capability, and operational leadership directly strengthen our organisation’s governance, compliance systems, and strategic direction. At Breakthrough Behaviour, I oversee policy development, operations, and quality assurance. I also manage the co‑director, Adam both professionally and as his wife which means I’m responsible for keeping the organisation (and Adam) aligned, accountable, and on track at all times.
Outside of my government and executive work, I have five years of Muay Thai experience, and I also coach. While I continue my full‑time APS career, I remain committed to delivering the highest standard of service, governance, and participant outcomes through Breakthrough Behaviour.
